A Little About Me

I am a professor of Information Technology at Mott Community College in Flint, Michigan. I teach courses ranging from general computers to security to computer programming. I also am the coordinator of Information Technology at Mott. I am a real fan of living in Michigan because of the seasons. Fall is my favorite because of the crisp air and fall colors. I enjoy woodworking, snowmobiling, photography, and technology.

Teaching Theory

It is my mission to provide students with an atmosphere that promotes thinking. Students come to an understanding of the content of my courses while learning how they may apply it in their own lives, current careers, and future endevours. Treating students with respect and creating a caring environment not only helps them want to earn an "A" in their current course, but also gives them the confidence to succeed in their student careers.

Experience

I have over 20 years of industry experience in Information Technology. I have held positions in a variety of areas within the field including Applications Developer, Systems Administrator, Webmaster, Field Technician, and Corporate Technical Trainer.

I have over 17 years of educational experience at community college and bachelors levels. My educational experience is based on teaching Information Technology courses including network security, productivity applications, web development, programming, database, help desk, systems analysis and design, business intelligence, and A+ certification.

My experiences have allowed me to lead a number of projects including creation of wide area networks, securing networks, developing websites for secure financial transactions, e-commerce websites, call center software, time clock software, payroll bureau software, municpal websites, car dealer applications, manufacturing quoting software, insurance office management software, curricululm development applications, and more. These experiences lend themselves to providing a vast amount of educational experiences to students.
